I found this cool website with 345 creative writing prompts. Some were lame, but some were actually pretty cool. I am going to try to do a prompt per night. The first activity I tried is as follows:
(please realize that I make shit up when I write. it's a way to make us boring people seem like we have interesting lives ;) )

Write
for 10 minutes using “I used to think…” as your starter.
Check below the fold for my entry.....
I
used to think the world was flat.
I picked the cobwebs off my father’s tallest ladder, stole my brother’s
binoculars and climbed to the very top rung. Looking out through the scope, the earth looked as flat as my
kitchen table. I sat Indian style
on the grass the other day, half-expecting to begin rolling down the earth’s
round face, but I just lay there like an idiot as the bees circle me, smelling
the strawberry jelly on my breath.
I
never believed what I read in books, and I hardly ever read books. So, there wasn’t much that I believed
in. The idea that the world was
flat made sense to me. Even Google
Earth couldn’t convince me. That
is, of course, until I ran across the earth. I started on a cool April day in Pennsylvania and didn’t
stop for a break until I reached China.
I had an eggroll, met up with General Tso (who by the way makes some
kick-ass chicken), and beat Yao Ming in checkers all before I continued my run
back to Pennsylvania.
When
I finally reached my house I stared back at the horizon. It still looked flat, but I knew that
it was round from my experience.
